Environmental Policies have been distributed and are part of our Employee Handbook
All employees are empowered to contribute to sustainable efforts
We are working with landlord to maintain maximum efficiency
Energy
We utilize energy efficient lighting and take advantage of ambient light
Lights are turned off when a space is not in use
Programmable thermostats are used and the temperature is kept at 68 in the winter and 76 in the summer
Windows are opened when feasible to avoid using HVAC
Automatic power saver mode is set on computers and peripheral equipment
Goals are to reduce these impacts next year by 3%
Waste & Recycling
Two stream recycling is encouraged and clearly marked bins are in a common area
Printer and Copy Machine Toner is recycled
Battery and electronics waste collection are held semi-annually
Documentation is shared externally through a project management site called Adosar
and we use this system, along with our server, to e-store documents
‘Re-cycle-a-Cup’ product was implemented to increase sustainability of coffee pods
Shipping materials that arrive with samples or supplies are recycled or reused
An electronic timesheet, expense and PTO system was put in place to reduce printing
A no bottled water policy was enacted
All administrative papers are to be double-sided
Purchasing
Purchasing guidelines include a 30% recycled component for copy/plotter and any other paper product
Fair Trade Certified Coffee is purchased
Cleaning products with the Certified Green Seal are used
Fragrance and anti-bacterial free soap is used
Vendors have been informed we no longer accept paper catalogs
Sample vendors who provide finishes were told to equip us with a means to return the samples we do not use so they stay out of the waste stream
